MIT Supply Chain Expert Dr. Yossi Sheffi to Keynote Traffic Club of Chicago Annual Dinner on May 15

CHICAGO—March 18, 2014 (James Street Media Services)—Dr. Yossi Sheffi, an award-winning expert on transportation and logistics, will be the keynote speaker for The Traffic Club of Chicago’s 107th Annual Dinner on May 15, 2014.

Sheffi is the director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Center for Transportation and Logistics, and is a renowned authority in systems optimization, risk analysis, and supply chain management. He is a teacher, researcher, and author of many scientific books and publications.

Outside the university, Sheffi has consulted with governments and leading manufacturing, retail, and transportation enterprises all over the world. He is also an active entrepreneur, having founded and co-founded five successful companies.

The Traffic Club’s annual dinner will be held Thursday, May 15 from 6–9 p.m. at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers in downtown Chicago. The club’s annual golf outing will be held the day before on Wednesday, May 14 at the Cog Hill Golf Club in Lemont.     

Traditionally, more than 900 transportation executives attend the dinner, with many planning high-level meetings around the scheduled events. Since its founding in 1907, The Traffic Club of Chicago has been the place for shippers, carriers, government officials, and others involved in transportation to work together toward common goals.
