“What’s Up—and Down—With Air Freight?” Briefing Hosted by Traffic Club of Chicago

September 19 Program features Shawn McWhorter of Nippon Cargo Airlines

Shawn McWhorterCHICAGO, IL—August 20, 2013 (James Street Media Services)—The next Executive Series Luncheon hosted by The Traffic Club of Chicago on September 19 will feature an insider’s look at trends in the air freight industry with Shawn McWhorter, president of Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA).

The presentation will examine changes in behavior of both air freight shippers and customers. McWhorter will explore recent volatility in demand and cost, look at how fluctuations in passenger air service impact air cargo, and discuss ways the industry can work toward improved stability.

“With more than 20 years in the air and on the ground with the freight industry, Shawn has great insights to share with us,” said James Giblin, chairman of the Education Committee. “He will be able to offer advice on what it takes to maintain a stable supply chain.”

McWhorter joined NCA in March 2007, and is responsible for the North and South America regions. He has more than 20 years of experience working for airlines, mostly in cargo.  Prior to NCA, he worked for Northwest Airlines and Delta.
